The designs of the costumes I create are inspired by Japanese culture. They are made from sustainable, easy-to-move-in recycled fabric known for its durability.
Since 2020, I have been working with my husband together, I opened the installation company Hidden Layer Studio. My husband Pablo.shibari and DJ Super User and I are organizing a regular once every monthly event called UNBOUND. Fire and LED performance Aphrodita
The show created by Aphrodita becomes Aphrodisiac, the energy of the earth budding. Those who see the shimmer become part of the sacred ritual and encounter a completely new self.
UNBOUND
Based on fabric-making techniques that have been passed down since the Jomon period and the social recycling system of the Edo period, we propose ideas for creating a sustainable modern world. Our concept is to repurpose deadstock kimonos, connecting the past and shaping the future through fashion.
Unbound is a groundbreaking concept, at once a performance, but also a party. Our mission is to share the underground Japanese art form of Shibari in a way that captures the imagination and opens your minds to new states of being.
We harmoniously combine music and art to create a sensual journey that enhances the complex beauty of Shibari. This is more than bondage. This is a choreographed journey of the human body and the altered mind.
Hidden Layer Studio
We make interactive installations and live performances.
In our work we combine elements of the underground Japan with handmade electronics and blinking lights.
